## Caption

Some wonder if you are able to go skinny dipping right away immediately after a vasectomy. The answer is No. 

A vasectomy doesn't make you sterile right away, so no skinny dipping 😏. 

Note that the discharge after the vasectomy still contains some swimmers, and it takes times for the what’s remaining in the vas deferens to be completely ejaculated or harmlessly reabsorbed by the body. 

Until then, you'll need to continue using some additional form of birth control.

There are tests that can be ordered by your doctor to determine when you can continue without protection. 

Once your doctor deems you sterile, you can begin your scheduled activities without other contraceptives.
