During the first few weeks of pregnancy, it's not uncommon to experience some frustratingly vague symptoms.

How do you know for sure that you are pregnant? The proof is in the pregnancy test.

Sometimes, even before you miss a period, you might be able to suspect that you're pregnant.

There are some classic signs of pregnancy which may be
- A missed period: This can be misleading if you have an irregular menstrual cycle
- Tender, swollen br34sts: Due to hormonal changes early in pregnancy
- Nausea +/- vomiting: Also referred to as morning sickness, May start earlier for some. Pregnancy hormones might be responsible.
- Increased urination
- Fatigue: Increased sleepiness early in pregnancy. Might be due to the hormone progesterone.

Others might include: mood swings, bloating, light spotting, cramps, constipation, nasal congestion amongst others.

Some of these signs and symptoms are vague and not unique to pregnancy.

You might also experience these because your period is about to start (PMS) or because you are getting sick.

In the same vein, you can be pregnant without experiencing many of these symptoms.

If you miss a period and notice some of the above signs or symptoms, take a home pregnancy test or see your health care provider.

The sooner your pregnancy is confirmed, the sooner you can begin prenatal care.
