## Caption

Pain just before, during or after S3x (dyspareunia) can be caused by many things ranging from structural problems to psychological concerns. 

If this happens to you, maybe your body is telling you something is wrong, so do not ignore it. 

You might believe that it’s embarrassing topic to bring up at the doctor’s visit but remember that doctors are used to dealing with s3xual health problems. 

Women tend to experience this pain during or after the act, either within the v4g1na or deeper in the pelvis. 

It can be due to an infection, menopause, not enough lubrication, injury/trauma/irritation, lack of s3xual arousal, vaginismus, and also g3nital irritation/allergy. 

It can also be seen in women with PID, fibroids, endometriosis, IBS and constipation. 

Some emotional factors like anxiety, depression, stress, history of SA, could also be intertwined and might play a role. 

Important to reach out to your healthcare provider if you have recurrent pain during or after the act. Treating this can help your S3x life, emotional intimacy and self image. 

Treatments focus on the cause and can help eliminate or lessen the severity of this common problem.
