There have been multiple instances of individuals that just got done having S3x with their partner and realizing the C0nd0m broke.

Suddenly, for those in this situation, it might seem like you’ve lost the expected protection from the barrier contraceptive against an unwanted pregnancy or STI, sometimes leaving you feeling anxious, vulnerable and helpless.

Important thing in this situation is to stay calm and follow the steps listed in the video.

Many times, a couple won't notice that a C0nd0m broke until after S3x. But if during the act, you realize that the C0nd0m has broken, stop right away and use a new one.

The typical failure rate of the male C0nd0m when used as a form of contraception is 18%(18 out of 100 will get pregnant). If used perfectly for 1 year, only 2 out of 100 will become pregnant.

The most common reason for failure, besides not using a C0nd0m every time, is that it breaks or partially or completely slips off during use.

If it fails, you can use emergency contraception as a backup. This can be gotten over the counter and also options are available only by prescription or inserted at the doctor’s office.

If you are using a backup method of birth control, such as the birth control pill, shot, patch, ring, or an IUD, you should be protected from pregnancy even if the C0nd0m broke.

An unplanned pregnancy is not the only potential risk when a C0nd0m breaks. C0nd0ms are barrier contraceptives that protect against the transmission of STDs/STIs, so if it breaks then you are at risk for these too.

If you and/or your partner are unsure about your STI status, it’s a good idea to get tested.
