The thought of talking about s3xually transmitted infections (STIs) with a partner can seem really unnerving but this should not be the case.

People will continue to have S3x and with STIs being more common than ever, there’s no shame in wanting to protect yourself or a partner.

Sharing your status with a new or potential partner is really important, especially if it’s just a short-lived hookup.

That being said, it is important to get regular STI/STD screenings if s3xually active and to notify current and recent partners if you test positive.

This will give them the opportunity to get tested and treated, reducing their risk of spreading it themselves or developing potentially serious complications.
