This is a complete fallacy and a myth. Many STDs are asymptomatic and can completely go unnoticed. 

Some like Chlamydia, HPV show very few symptoms and can cause health related complications if left untreated. 

Best advice: Get tested and do not assume you or someone else you know is STD free based on how clean or attractive they might look.
