2 YEARS AGO TODAY CHANGED YOUR WORLD BUT NEVER BROKE YOUR SPIRIT.

Today marks 2 years from the first Saturday, March 14, 2020, that the first Covid restrictions were mandated. The mask mandates and other restrictions came later but the pictures above say it all about that day. 

It was a  time of uncertainty, confusion and fear and none of you could have known that for the next year and a half that your college experience would be challenged in ways  unimagined. 

Our businesses took huge financial hits over the next 18 months but we were always bothered more knowing how precious this 4 years period is for students.  We had time to fight through the burdens but college students only get 4 years once!  

However, the silver lining was seeing the resilience of students, finding ways to make the most of a shitty situation and never complaining.  This period once again demonstrated why Miami students do so well after college in their respective fields; and in life in general. Miami students are battle tested and able to handle adversity better than any students in the country. These traits were on full display during this challenging period.

Today, 2 years after that first Covid Saturday, we are reminded that Covid did not win!  We often used the hashtag #FuckCovid.  It was never meant to dismiss the seriousness of Covid and sadly the lost lives.  Rather it will always our way of saying that we were never going to allow Covid to change our way of life or your college experience forever!  Yes, we all made sacrifices but we were never meant to sit or stand 6 feet apart, avoiding human interaction and wearing a mask into eternity. 

Today at Beat The Clock,  you have all proved that Covid did not win!  So when you hold that shot glass up, arm and arm with your friends we suggest  you all say FUCK COVID! and throw it down!
