Our Youth Heart Watch team recently recognized six schools in philly_schools as their first “Heart Safe” schools. Since 2018, we have certified more than 100 Heart Safe schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We are proud and grateful to the staff, teachers and students who have committed to ensuring they are prepared in the case of a cardiac emergency in their schools!

❤️ Did you know? Each year, #suddencardiacarrest (SCA) claims the lives of an estimated 7,000 children and adolescents in the U.S. SCA is less common in children and adolescents than adults, but it can affect anyone, even those who are young and physically fit. Survival of SCA in the community is as low as 10%, but in schools that have a response plan and practiced drills, survival can increase to >80%!
