Did you know that we were one of the first children’s hospitals to build and implement an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program? As we celebrate Antibiotic Awareness Week, we want to give kudos to this team consisting of medical directors and infectious diseases-trained clinical pharmacists, along with infectious disease fellows and nurse practitioners. They work with our clinicians to ensure our patients get the right antibiotic, at the right dose, for the right duration, and at the right time.
