Ciao a tutti! Oggi voglio parlarvi dei "false friends" 😳 ovvero parole italiane molto simili ad altre parole inglesi che però non hanno lo stesso significato e sono un vero incubo per gli studenti 👺 Eccone alcuni: 👇🏻

1️⃣ Actually

Wrong Association: Attualmente (currently)

Correct Association: In realtà (in fact)

Example: I thought he was busy, but he actually had finished work early that day. 

2️⃣ Attend

Wrong Association: Attendere (to wait)

Correct Association: Partecipare (to attend)

Example: Many people attended the conference to learn about new trends.

3️⃣ Fabric

Wrong Association: Fabbrica (factory)

Correct Association: Tessuto (material, fabric)

Example: The shirt is made of a soft fabric.

4️⃣ Library

Wrong Association: Libreria (bookstore)

Correct Association: Biblioteca (library)

Example: I spent hours and hours
 in the library yesterday.

5️⃣ Sensible

Wrong Association: Sensibile (sensitive)

Correct Association: Ragionevole (reasonable)

Example: It's sensible to bring an umbrella when the weather forecast predicts rain.

Always remember to pay attention to these words! You never know when a "false friend" might trick you! 😉📘
