“I owned every second that this world could give, I saw so many places, the things that I did, Yeah with every broken bone, I swear I lived.” With graduation only a few days away, it’s bittersweet leaving a place I’ve called home for the last four years. But, I can leave Montclair feeling accomplished, knowing that I have seized the day during my time here, embodying the school’s motto “Carpe Diem.” My freshman year I hit the ground running getting involved in everything I could including Newman Catholic, the Women’s Rugby team, RecBoard, and SGA. After my first year I also got involved with SLAM, Team Rocky, the Red Hawk Pride Society and had an on campus job at the Department of Campus Recreation, in the Club Sports office.
My advice to current/future students: GET INVOLVED! You’ll hear this hundreds of times during orientation and throughout your college career, but take it from a student that did, and would do it all over again if I had the chance. Find a home away from home on campus, join a club, apply for an on-campus job. There will be good days, busy days and of course stressful days. But in the end it will all be worth it. You will get just as much as you put into it back, plus more. #RHOMS #RedHawkPride #CarpeDiem #seizetheday #RedHawkLife #RockytheRedHawk
