## Caption

In case you missed the Nutcracker over the holidays, here is the ballerina orchid! Scientifically known as the caladenia melanema, it flowers from August to mid-September near salt lakes in a specific region of Australia. It is extremely rare and considered a “Threatened Flora” by the Western Australian Government. Has anyone seen it in North America?
