So, what is the smart method of keeping your plants hydrated given that putting rocks in the bottom of your potted plants is a big nope. Drainage holes in your plant’s pot and sitting in a reservoir saucer still holds supreme – but, what about hanging and other decorative plants? There are preferred plants whose hearty root systems, many tropical, can withstand prolonged moist settings. Snake Plants, Oleanders, Chinese Evergreens, Kupukupu Ferns and colorful Crotons are some good picks. Remember, because these little darlings may not need drainage, it’s even more important to find and maintain your plant’s optimal moisture level for it to thrive. The use of a water meter can be handy provided that several readings are taken around the bowl of the pot.
