Have slugs in your garden? Notice holes in leaves, small plants cut off, or silvery slime trails? You probably have slugs. These aliens dine at night and use your seedlings as appetizers. Tilling destroys their hiding places, but it can also dry out soil and damage plants. What to do? Have a beer. A non-chemical way of warding off these beasts, slugs are attracted to beer as much as frat boys. Slugs totally dig the yeasty odors of beer -- so much, that they crawl into containers and drown. For the love of all things holy, no need to use precious Guinness for this purpose, as the slugs are attracted to even the cheapest brew – mostly because slugs are slugs, and they have no class.
