Up next we're featuring two #RADrabbits chicken_cookies_coffee and run4itfitness who will be lining up for the Chicago Marathon on Sunday and the Boston Marathon on Monday. 🙌

​Edith's race mantra: "Just keep running."
​Aaron's race mantra: "I just really love to run."

We asked Edith and Aaron their Boston/Chicago Marathon stories and what it means to be participating in BOTH races back-to-back. Here's what they had to say:

​Edith: "I was supposed to run Boston for Casa Myrna (a domestic violence charity) in 2020, but that got cancelled. I support this charity because years ago I was in an abusive relationship and getting out was HARD. As for Chicago, I got in in the lottery before I had the opportunity for Boston and I just didn't want to give it up. I just love the idea of doing both because it is a really unique opportunity. And I love finding out what my body can do."

​Aaron: "I ran Boston once. Decided to try again in 2018. Qualified for 2019, missed the cutoff.  Ran a faster qualifying time for 2020, missed the cutoff again.  Ran even faster for 2021, missed the initial cutoff, opting to register for the virtual. And then they opened up slots for in person and I took it. Chicago was my first marathon in 2005 and I got hooked. I’ve run 12 Chicago marathons since and finally got on the Pace team for this year. I’ll be one of the 3:25 pacers in corral D. Running 2 majors in 2 days...priceless!"

​What do the logistics look like for them? Edith will grab her Boston bib Friday, fly to Chicago Saturday, run Chicago on Sunday morning, fly back to Boston Sunday evening, and then run Boston on Monday. Aaron will fly to Boston Friday to grab his bib, then fly to Chicago to work at the expo on Saturday and get his bib. He will run Chicago Sunday morning then fly to Boston later that day. He will run Boston on Monday and then fly home after.
