I wasn’t feeling my best before stepping on stage for this event last week - sick, coughing fits in my hotel room, and running on sheer willpower. The easy choice would have been to let that doubt creep in, to pull back, to convince myself that maybe today just wasn’t my day.

But I believe in always showing up for the audience, no matter what. Because when you’re given the opportunity to share a message that could shift someone’s perspective, you give it everything you’ve got.

And then, at the very end of the event, this gentleman came up to me and said I was the best speaker they’ve had at this event in 12 years. On a day when I was pushing through, that meant everything.

Sometimes, we don’t feel 100%, but it’s important to still bring our best. And on those days, the impact we make is a reminder of why we do what we do.

Grateful for this moment. Grateful for this work. Grateful to keep showing up.
