We’ve never done this before.

In August we hosted a virtual Believe conference for hundreds of students to attend and talk about leadership. We had never hosted a virtual conference before, and quite frankly we didn’t know what would be involved in pulling off this kind of event.

It was definitely a learning curve for all of us, but in the end it was epic! We had incredible speakers for our executive panel, and our Olympic panel, we had keynote speaker termuende, and student workshop hosts that blew our minds!

Not everything went smoothly, but the outcome we hoped for, was definitely achieved.

Students were inspired, they connected with each other, and we all learned as one during the 2-day event. And it didn’t stop there, the legacy of the conference continued as many of the attendees have since taken action and started a believe Chapter at there School!

As scary as it was to organize such a big event, with so many moving parts, enabling our 8-person conference committee, I am so glad we did it!

Reflecting back, there were many times I tried to convince myself out of the idea because I would think, “but we‘ve never done this before”. That argument feels convincing, until we internalize that the only way for us to have experience in the thing we’ve never done before, is to go out there and do it! For us, that was the conference, for you it may be something else. And so, today I challenge you to take on something you’ve never done before.
