When the city of Brescia asked Piacentini to redesign the city center among many things he chose to create an innovative building that had no equal in Italy. Thus the first Italian skyscraper was born. The Torrione, named so at the behest of the designer and the builder himself, to prevent it from being matched with American skyscrapers, relocating it, instead, along the lines of the Italic tradition of great medieval towers. Here our 4th xplanecitysketch on Brescia
.
