The Weinhaus Huth.
After the construction of the Berlin Wall, the building next to the abandoned site of the former Potsdam train station and not far from the remains of the Esplanade Hotel was dubbed-not entirely accurately-« the last house on Potsdamer Platz. » The Weinhaus Huth, standing alone on a vacant lot in West Berlin in close proximity to the Wall, was a symbol of the city’s postwar destruction and division.
