## Caption

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park contains two active volcanoes, including Kīlauea, an extremely eruptive and active hotspot. Its name means “spewing” or “much spreading” in the Hawaiian language. This image shows lava cascading down the sides of Halema'uma'u crater and flowing into the newly-formed lava lake, accompanied by volcanic gas emissions.

Imagery captured by SkySat on December 21, 2020.
