✨ Fizzy Ornaments ✨ Save this for when you're getting your holiday decorations out! Recycle your old plastic ornament and use them for a fun science experiment! This holiday-themed experiment requires just a few ingredients and can be put together in minutes. 🎄 Help your little ones grow into someone amazing with early science exploration, experience cause and effect, and build little hand muscles with our Twisty Droppers! Save this experiment for later or get this experiment started now:
--
"Prep & Process: add paint and glitter (optional) to the clear plastic ornament, then cover with baking soda. Add vinegar for a colorful, bubbly reaction. (Tip: place a towel under your tray so that any excess spillage is immediately soaked up rather than all over the table and the floor.)
--
The Science: baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a base, and vinegar (acetic acid) is an acid. When they mix, they initially make carbonic acid which quickly breaks down into water and carbon dioxide (the bubbles you see)
--
Preschool Prompts: is the substance inside the bauble a solid or liquid? What do you think will happen when we add vinegar to the bauble? Describe what you see, hear, and smell. Do you think bubbles would still form if you added just water?" - tinyn3rds
