It’s Friday so lets talk Wine! 🍷

I recently paid a visit to Loki wine store in Birmingham Western Arcade (also located in Edgbaston) I was hosting a small dinner for a few friends. I popped in told them what I was cooking, what I usually like and I was blown away by so much info and knowledge! (I felt so come dine with me!) They really… REALLY, no REAAALLY know their wine. 😎

💜 As I was cooking Morrocan lamb, the gentleman who took care of me recommended a chateaumusar 1998 (actually older than one of my guests haha) which comes from a place not far from morocco, where biblically jesus turned water into wine. Without even being a religious person I was sold by this point. It turned out to be perfect for the meal, full bodied, vibrant, mature and smooth with hints of spice, currants and tint of oak. It tasted very complex, in a good way. At £40 something it was a real treat. 

🧡 I also picked up a cheeky bottle of Orange Gold by gerardbertrandofficial. My first time trying orange wine and I have definitely been converted! I think I now prefer orange over white. Think your favourite pinot with added zest and sweetness but still holding that mellow, slightly peppery, dry taste. A new fave of mine! 

❤️ My favourite part: You can purchase a little store card, put as much £ on as you like and go round having a little taste of all the wine for a small amount of money, or go for a bigger glass and pay a little more.
