## Caption

Not only is it the first day of spring, but Josef Albers was also #BornOnThisDay in 1888. It’s only natural to celebrate Albers and the #VernalEquinox by sharing Homage to the Square: Vernal!

A verdant example of Albers‘ exploration of color theory and harmony, this painting from 1957 is one of the many works by the highly influential artist in our collection. Want to see more? Head to our collection site to explore more than 80,000 works.
