You can easily create your own sensory bin using just a few items
1️⃣ Choose a filler: In the toddler years, I recommend rice, and for babies, water works great. But really, any material can work as a filler. Feel free to experiment and find what suits your child best!
2️⃣ Add loose parts: To ensure a successful sensory bin, include items that your child finds intriguing. For us, it's always trucks! Then, incorporate loose parts that fit the theme. It can be as simple as wooden blocks or Pom Poms! Imagine how your child will interact with the loose parts based on the bin's purpose. In this case, I thought my child would enjoy discussing the signs and using the wooden pieces for building with his truck.
3️⃣ Include cups and containers: Never underestimate the magic of a cup! Children are fascinated by scooping and pouring activities. Fill your sensory bin with various cups and containers for added fun.
4️⃣ Use age-appropriate fine motor tools: Consider spoons, shovels, scoopers, or any tools that enhance fine motor skills. Experiment and find what works best for your child!
