We have exciting things coming this fall... From a career survey of legendary American print maker Jasper Johns to an exploration of the still life genre, these exhibitions ask you to look closely, encounter new ideas, and unearth meaningful answers.
.
Iconic: The Photographs of Charles "Teenie" Harris opens soon this summer. Featuring staff favorites from past exhibitions, this installation celebrates the indelible work of this iconic Pittsburgh photographer.
.
A Pittsburgh Anthology opens August 15. It explores Pittsburgh’s special place in history as a city of creativity and artistic innovation by featuring a rotating selection of objects from CMOA’s collections.
.
Margaret Honda opens September 20. This show, part of the Forum series, debuts a new sculpture commission of a surreal frog-like form, measuring nearly five feet long.
.
An Art of Changes: Jasper Johns Prints, 1960–2018 opens October 12. Johns is widely considered one of America's most influential artists, and his work provides a critical link between Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art. See some 90 examples of his prints in this survey that spans six decades of his career.
.
A Delight for the Senses: The Still Life opens November 2. This exhibition is a celebration of this humble genre, exploring nearly 250 years of the tradition from the Dutch Golden Age to America’s Gilded Age.
