Today’s #TeenieTuesday pays respect to the second-year death anniversary of Michael Brown and to the spirit of the Black Lives Matter movement.

April 10, 1954—Bethel A.M.E Church, which stands as the first AME church west of the Allegheny Mountains founded in 1818, held an open community meeting organized in response to incidents of police brutality. This meeting was led by keynote speaker, activist Mal Goode who worked as a commentator for the Pittsburgh Courier and WHOD news. Other key figures attending this meeting were local NAACP President, Richard F. Jones and Mayor David L. Lawrence.
