## Caption

CJ Miles does not want a headband photo to define the first thing people know about him forever. The former NBA player tells William C. Rhoden that his next chapter is built on continued growth, creative ownership and a refusal to be reduced to one identity. Photography lets Miles pair his own images with his own words, while his playing experience gives him unusual access to athletes at their most natural. His goal is to keep evolving until the person he becomes matters more than the version fans remember from the court.
