Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift — Neighborhood Noise Concerns Continue

Since opening September 16, 2026, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood has remained the subject of noise concerns among some residents of nearby neighborhoods, including Toluca Lake.

Universal Studios Hollywood has publicly stated that the coaster operates within applicable sound requirements. It has also described noise-reduction measures and discussions about further mitigation.

In our own conversations with nearby residents, we’ve heard an important distinction. Some say their primary concern isn’t necessarily the measured decibel level. Instead, they describe intermittent screams from riders throughout the day, repeatedly interrupting otherwise quiet periods.

Universal City Neighbors, a local advocacy organization, produced the accompanying video to present its concerns and call for further sound mitigation. We’re sharing it as part of our independent reporting.

Editorial Accuracy & Sourcing

Universal’s statements about sound compliance reflect the company’s reported findings. Cow Missing has not independently conducted acoustic testing or verified those measurements. Compliance and residents’ experiences are separate questions.

The accounts described here come in part from residents we’ve spoken with directly. They do not necessarily represent every neighbor.

Editorial Disclosure

This video was produced by Universal City Neighbors and represents the organization’s perspective. Cow Missing is not affiliated with the group and does not endorse or oppose its campaign, positions, or proposed solutions. Its claims are not independently verified by Cow Missing.

Our aim is fair, factual coverage of all perspectives.
