The Animal Actors' Stage Show was in the Upper Lot (Entertainment Center) at Universal Studios Hollywood from 1970 - 2023. It featured animal performers as a highlight of Universal Studios Hollywood since its early days. At one time, it was explicitly called “Lassie’s Animal Stage” to honor the immense popularity of the Lassie movie dog.

From January to April 2001, the Animal Actors show relocated to the Castle Theatre while the main Animal stage was being rethemed to reflect the Animal Planet Live! Branding.

In March 2006, the Animal Planet Live! theme was removed, and the stage regained its original name, the “Hollywood Animal Actors Stage." It later evolved into “Universal’s Animal Actors.” During the retheming process, the show continued to operate, leading to a few minor mistakes, such as Animal Planet Live! Video logos appear in the “Ham Cam” video footage, and the host mentions the channel several times. These issues were quickly corrected, and by June 2006, the show was fully rethemed and updated.

In November 2022, it was announced that the Animal Actors' Stage, the Special Effects Show in the Castle Theatre, and the Production Central store would be removed in early 2023 to make space for the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster.

The Universal Studios Lot is a television and film studio complex located at 100 Universal City Plaza in Universal City, California. It is a component of the broader Universal Studios complex, which also features the nearby Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. The lot is owned by Comcast through its subsidiary NBCUniversal, and it serves as the production base for Universal Studios. The gates of Universal City were officially opened on March 15, 1915. 1964, the lot began offering modern studio tours, which eventually developed into the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park. Today, the Universal Studios Lot encompasses 400 acres and includes more than 30 sound stages, the Brokaw News Center, and 165 additional structures.
