To celebrate, Jewel-Osco is putting on a three-week series of all types of family-friendly public events. Special in-store offers, giveaways and sampling will be available at all 188 Jewel-Osco locations. Additional highlights include JoJo’s Birthday Bash at Lincoln Park Zoo, the Charity Beach Volleyball Classic at North Avenue Beach, and Yappy Hour at Montrose Beach. What began with a small, horse-drawn wagon selling freshly brewed tea and coffee door-to-door, grew into a single storefront on the South Side of Chicago. Today, Jewel-Osco is recognized as Chicagoland’s hometown grocer with 188 stores across Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. Cheers to 125 years, Jewel-Osco!!

(Their kick-off event for the celebratory series was put on with the help of ritzcrackers.)
