#ThriverThursday | A strange lump found during a self-exam triggered a sinking feeling in Detria’s gut. Friends, family and doctors convinced her that because she was young, appeared healthy, and had no family history of cancer that I was untouchable by the disease. Unfortunately, everyone was wrong. When diagnosed with breast cancer, her only course of action was to beat it. With the help of her doctors, a positive attitude and willingness to live for her children, she is now four years cancer free. Detria is proof that self-exams and advocating for your own health can save your life.
