“To diffuse light where darkness has long prevailed,” and later “Light for All,” were the mottos published in the earliest issues of the BaltimoreSun, founded #OTD in 1837.
As journalistic integrity is brought to the forefront in our digital age, we are invited to remember a time when the Sun’s reporters risked life and limb to bring stories from the front lines of World War II: from the pen of the Sun’s own Joseph R. L. Sterne, “Combat Correspondents: The ‘Baltimore Sun’ in World War II” has been a continuous MdHS bestseller since its publication in 2009.

From now until June 3, you can buy “Combat Correspondents” and other MdHS Press books online. Use promo code DMHS for 20% off and free media mail shipping (U.S. only): www.hfsbooks.com/publishers/the-maryland-historical-society
