Happy Birthday Edith Heath 🎈What does it mean to design for everyday life? Edith Heath believed beautiful objects should also be useful, enduring, and accessible. Through earthy glazes, innovative clay forms, and designs made for daily living, she transformed American ceramics.

We’re honored to celebrate her legacy through a recent gift from the Brian and Edith Heath Foundation: more than 100 objects, along with an endowment supporting the care of craft and decorative arts in Oakland Museum of California’s collection. This generous contribution helps ensure these stories continue to inspire future generations.

See Heath’s work in our galleries.
