I wasn’t getting stronger because of how little I was eating

When I first started CrossFit, I was probably eating around 1200-1500 calories per day

I always thought just “eating healthy” was enough for any type of physical goal

I had no idea that I should have been eating around 2000-2500 calories per day until I was taught by a coach to do so

As soon as I started increasing my calories, my strength shot up.

I hit multiple PRs within just a few weeks ✅
My body composition started to change ✅
I was losing body fat while building muscle ✅
My performance and recovery felt so much better ✅

All from increasing my food intake and fueling my body correctly.

Not from going harder with cardio

Not from eliminating rest days

Not from cutting back on carbs or calories

From eating more and learning more about my body.

The more stress you put on your body with exercise … HIIT, 1 hour fitness classes, CrossFit, training for Ironmans or marathons … the more food your body needs to keep up.

If you’re constantly increasing the intensity of your exercise & decreasing the amount of your food, you’re putting your body through it.

Recovery decreases, hormones are out of whack, your body is holding on to everything you’re giving it …

It’s time to let go of the low calorie & strict diet mindset.

Give your body the time it needs to heal.

The time you need to become your strongest self.

With love always,
Coach Alexa 🫶🏼
