Six Army National Guardsmen graduated from the Level I Idaho Honor Guard Course Friday. The week-long course teaches students all aspects of performing funeral honors. Idaho National Guardsmen perform color guards and funeral honors for nearly 650 events annually for service members and veterans throughout Idaho. The Soldiers who perform these duties do so on an entirely volunteer basis.

Gowen Field will host a Level II Course Aug. 18-26, which will focus on improving and expanding on honor guard course instructors' knowledge and skill sets.
