EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE: This week, the Idaho National Guard’s 101st Civil Support Team strengthened their skill of responding to chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear emergencies during training at Gowen Field.

The scenario involved a chemical combination that formed into a hazardous agent and could cause a harmful reaction to Guardsmen at one of the workout rooms on base. In the scenario, a custodian unintentionally mixed two cleaning products that presented a hazardous reaction, prompting the 101st CST to spring into action.

In another exercise scenario, a Guardsman’s HAZMAT suit became compromised while he was collecting samples of the hazardous agents within the contaminated building. He was medically extracted, allowing the Guardsmen to sharpen their medical response skills in addition to the HAZMAT training. #hazmat #civilsupportteam #civilsupportteam☣️☢️ #training #alwaysready #alwaysthere #domesticoperations #firstresponders
