“The Idaho Army National Guard was the best option for me to continue serving in the military and the community I call home. Prior to enlisting in 2019, I spent eight years as a motor transport mechanic with the Marine Corps, living between California and Idaho. I didn’t want to move around anymore and decided The National Guard was the best choice.

Serving gives me a sense of pride. I got that from being a Marine as well, but now I get it at a different level being able to serve in my own community. The Guard feels more like a family and a community than the active component and I enjoy that about this job. Everyone lives here and wants to serve their country, state and community, which is pretty cool.” - Sgt.
