Practicing making some gel prints using some Valley Oak leaves! This is one of the many activities we will have at our Acorn Day event on Saturday, October 18th from 10am to 4pm! This is a fun day of demonstrations, arts & crafts, educational booths, guided tours of the park, and to learn all about the process of turning acorns into food. Fall is the best time for harvesting acorns, a culturally significant traditional food staple for California Native peoples since time immemorial. This is a FREE public event that takes place outside of the State Indian Museum. There is a separate charge to visit the museum and Sutter’s Fort where there will be interpretive stations around the Fort as well this day. In this video, Theresa demonstrates making prints using two valley oak leaves, a gel plate, and red and yellow soy base ink. #stateindianmuseum #suttersfort #castateparks #sacramento #printing
