We ❤️ lovebeets! Full recap of our trip is now up on the blog + swipe right for some of our favorite moments. Here are three cool things we learned from our trip: 1. Because organic farms cannot use pesticides to kill harmful weeds, all weeds must be picked by hand before they affect crop growth and health. The amount of labor and extreme care that goes into organic farming explains the cost difference in organic vs. non-organic food. 2. Love Beets works together with their farmers and local experts to improve their beet yield by using drone technology, which allows them to spot potentially disastrous issues (like plant diseases, soil deficiencies, etc.) much earlier than humans are able to. 3. Love Beets has found a number of fantastic (and delicious) ways to use even the most misshapen beets - they use these for their beet powder or juice, and any other waste (peels, etc) is returned to farms to be composted. Head to the link in our bio to learn more & read more about our trip! #crowdedkitchentravels
