A fond farewell to SuperfoodRunner, and a warm welcome to Crowded Kitchen! 😊 We’re so excited to share this exciting new chapter of our lives with you! Here’s a bit of background on why we decided to change the name of our blog (you can read more on our brand new site, linked in our bio!): In our house, nearly every task we conquer is a team effort, whether it's washing dishes, putting up a Griswold-worthy display of Christmas lights every December, or cooking a Sunday dinner for ourselves and the other ten people that inevitably show up. Crowded Kitchen, too, was born out of team effort. This summer, we had a planning session to discuss how to evolve Superfood Runner. While we've always showcased recipes with natural, seasonal ingredients, we realized that our narrative focus did not fully represent the fabric of our family. We're a close-knit bunch that enjoys cooking large family meals, but we're all over the board in terms of dietary choices. Two of us (Lexi & Beth) are plant-based and gluten free, two others can't consume tree nuts, a few others are carnivores, and the list goes on. Crowded Kitchen was thus born out of an eagerness to share how we, as a family, bring meals to a shared table despite so many differences. Here, you'll find recipes developed by each member of our "team". We hope to inspire similar families to find common ground through cooking. Whether you're gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, meat eaters, a gourmand, etc., we hope to provide a little something for everyone. While our focus is mostly on food, we also want to share with you a true reflection of our daily life, our passions and our ambitions.
