## Caption

We like to print materials from our collections for videos but we like to have some relevancy to the videos. One of the ways we do this is to find national “holidays” to help highlight certain woodcuts, electrotypes, photo engravings, and typeset phrases. This video is a little more personal though because this video is for Howard’s birthday. We are not allowed to say exactly when but it is sometime in late July.

For today, Jared letterpress printed the perfect woodcut for this occasion. We received this woodcut in the mail a few years ago from Mark who lives in Saskatchewan, Canada. Thank you, Mark, for helping to highlight this day. The woodcut includes a caricature of Howard with a globe in the background. The text on the print states, “Every day is ... INTERNATIONAL HOWARD HATCH DAY Loved ‘round the world!” This was printed with red, white, and blue ink using our Washington hand press.
