We have a new banner up on our museum and our new exhibit opens this week! Get ready for an AMAZING exhibition which will take you on a nostalgic journey to the toys, movies, comics of the 60s - 90s. “America’s Monsters, Superheroes, and Villains: Our Culture at Play” exhibit explores how toys we played with have reflected the country’s changing values and cultural tensions over the past 80 years.

Hundreds of vintage toys, comic books, games, posters, media and more will make its home at the Sacramento History Museum starting August 9, 2024 and continue through January 7, 2025.

Featured are iconic monsters, superheroes, and villains such as Frankenstein, Dracula, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Joker, Storm, Green Goblin, Captain Marvel, as well as Star Trek, Star Wars, and more!

The “America’s Monsters, Superheroes, and Villains: Our Culture at Play” exhibition opens August 9th and will be included with Museum admission. In celebration of the new exhibition, all children 17 and younger will receive free Museum admission on Saturday, August 10th.
