May 23 is National Taffy Day! Invented in 1883 in a New Jersey candy shop, saltwater taffy has become one of most popular treats purchased by visitors at tourist attractions. Washington taffy was available at stores throughout Sacramento in 1906. Today, you can purchase saltwater taffy at a variety of businesses in the Old Sacramento Waterfront!
