## Caption

We often observe many national “holidays” on social media. It is one of the ways we can highlight and give relevance to an item in our museum, especially our print shop exhibit. For example, October 18th is National Necktie Day! What we know as a necktie today has its origins in Croatia dating to the mid-1600s. In honor of today, Jared letterpress printed a hand carved woodcut from the Lewis Winter Collection, which was made about 125-130 years ago. Much of Winter’s Collection contains clothing items used in advertising in the 1890s. #NationalNecktieDay #SacHistoryMuseum #necktie #woodcut #museum #sacramento #History #letterpress #printing
