🌎 BBCEarth and Minecraft Education return with #PlanetEarth3 World.

Featuring immersive landscapes, animals, and game-based learning resources, inspired by BBC Studios Natural History Unit’s landmark series, our BBC Earth team and Minecraft Education have partnered once again to launch the #PlanetEarth3 Minecraft World.

The brand-new world, released on 16th January, follows the record-breaking success of the #FrozenPlanet2 Minecraft Worlds, which launched last year across 116+ territories and achieved the most downloads in a single day for an educational game in Minecraft history.

The Planet Earth III Minecraft World is available in 29 languages for both #MinecraftEdu and Bedrock in the Minecraft Marketplace – a unique opportunity to watch, play, and learn together, taking biology and our understanding of biodiversity far beyond the classroom or living room.

The new world is rolling out globally to schools – with lesson plans for teachers – and to consumers and will be based on key sequences from the series such as: the great white shark and fur seal, the lily-trotters, the leopard and impala, the treehopper and stingless bees, the wolves and musk oxen and the macaques.

This partnership represents a huge cross-functional effort across BBC Studios, well done to everyone who has worked on this project which brings the wonders of the natural world to audiences in a truly innovative way.
