#MusicMadeUsFamily⁣
on 12-27-19 I experienced an unforgettable musical treat to hear live house music performances by the #yorubarecords family. Yesterday we came together for a pop-up party at likkleshop to celebrate, connect and laugh. ⁣
⁣
I have to thank my father for sharing his passion of music with me without even knowing it. Those house parties as a kid growing up in #Harlem, those summer days cruising down Lexington Avenue listing to WBLS on the radio was just the beginning. ⁣
⁣
My generation witnessed the birth of so many #cultural movements (#hiphop, #disco, #house #graffiti) My #dancing days at the Garage, #Studio54 and the #funhouse with my friends became a lifelong pursuit of good times where I truly thrive in the moment - the dance floor became my always #happy place. ⁣
⁣
The beauty of music is that it doesn’t care about your age, color, location, or status - it will move you, it will heal you, always! - RT ⁣
⁣
joskottmann_photography put together a beautiful collection of passionate producers/DJ’s that move crowds all over the world. Knowing how much I love #housemusic it’s a gift from my son wdyk_joe also a photographer that I will always cherish. ⁣
