In times of fear and uncertainty, sometimes the only thing that we know is that no matter what, we still get to welcome Shabbat every single week.

Tonight is another opportunity to give yourself what you need — whether that’s self-care and recharging, a space to be scared or angry, or a moment of joy in difficult times. This week’s violent protest aimed at thwarting a peaceful transfer of power and promoting racism and antisemitism, all in the midst of a deadly global pandemic, was a painful reminder of how much more work there is to be done to build a country that holds liberty and justice for all.
