DINNER PARTY - MIXING FAUX+REAL

Morning everyone! I actually had friends round for dinner on Thursday night! For the first time in years (due to Covid, knackered single parenthood and my previous shocking flat).

But I’m starting to introduce the new boyfriend to all my friends, so I think this’ll just be the first of many (dinners, not boyfriends). And yes, I will spill the beans (or at least a couple of beans) soon! 

So in honour of the Autumn equinox my lovely friend Jo wildsidelondon made up some gorgeous table vases for me, using some of her leftover plants from a workshop - dried and fresh - and mixed them with some of my own faux flowers and berries. And I totally love them! 

It seems a bit weird to mix fresh, dried and faux, but actually I think it makes for some really wonderful and interesting creations - I’ll put a video of the table setting on Stories so that you can see them more closely. 

I’m also totally falling for autumn shades at the moment and I really LOVE the introduction of these gorgeous ochres, burnt umbers and conker colours to the blues and greens of the kitchen. They’re not colours I’d naturally put in here at all, but they’ve created a whole new colour dimension in this space, which makes me quite excited! 

So what’s the verdict on mixing real, faux and dried in one vase? Fab, or a shocker? Might put a poll on Stories too.
