## Caption

Morning! So just a little tribute to my mum, who really is a superwoman. Here are just a couple of stories - 

Just as her acting career was taking off,  I came along by accident, much sooner in her marriage than planned! But when I was 6 months old she returned to her old show in the West End and spent the next 6 months with me in a pram in the wings of The Gielgud Theatre, while she acted on stage, ran off between scenes to feed me and then ran back on stage again! We actually ended up on the front cover of a book, which I’ll try to put up on Stories later. 

When she was 47 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was quite a hair raising time, but she survived and ended up becoming Chair of Breast Cancer care for 6 years. At nearly 79yrs old, she still works on the helpline 4 days a week. 

A few months ago she fell at home, unable to move for several hours. Eventually she managed to get up and despite the extreme pain, told us all she’d just pulled a muscle and basically got on with everything, albeit in agony and extremely slowly. After several weeks, my brother finally persuaded her to go and see the GP and it turned out she’d actually broken her back!! But had been very much of the classic British stiff upper lip French & Saunders “Stuff and nonsense” mode - do any of you remember that sketch?! This has now gone down in family legend! 

Despite giving up her acting career for us kids (It was tough - I have three siblings), my mum has and is ALWAYS there for us and has always worked extremely hard to make sure there is always a welcoming home, food on the table and a shoulder to cry on, if we need it. Thank you mum! You are amazing. 

I, on the other hand, intend to be soaking in this bath later. I can’t even remember where I found these floating lilies - they’re a bit over the top, but I love them!
