Morning everyone! So I’m afraid I’ve now taken down my golden balls, because I just felt I wanted a fresh start for this weekend, with fresher colours.

Although, having said that, the pretend pink flowers I stuck in the Christmas tree are now part of my new ‘fresh’ flower display in the hallway! Surely nature’s vision was for multipurpose plant life?! 😂

Anyway, I thought I’d show you a few progress shots of my blue stair mural today. This one was nowhere near as painful as the zig zags, because it’s just free form really, inspired by the wonderful artwork of linneaanderssonofficial.

I started at 10pm on a Friday night and finished on the Monday afternoon. In the meantime, the puppy vomited and poo’d everywhere, I dropped a whole can of pink paint all down the wooden stairs that then took 3 hours to scrub clean and I also ruined one of my favourite t-shirts, because I just couldn’t resist picking up that brush again before changing! In fact that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what went wrong that weekend 😂

BUT it was all worth it in the end and I’m enormously grateful for my incredibly tolerant kids, who just roll their eyes and get on with life, when I’m in a painting passion. However, when we’re in Tier 5092 and I’m on my 323rd mural in the flat, they just might lose patience! 😂

Oh and I can’t paint any of the stripped wood in the flat, because it’s a rental, so for the risers, I just painted and cut to size some self adhesive embossed wood effect removal wallpaper and stuck it on!!

Have a fab weekend everyone!
